Stoxkart NRI Account

Stoxkart NRI account includes Stoxkart NRI Trading Account and Stoxkart NRI Demat Account. The trading account is to trade at BSE and NSE exchanges. The demat account holds securities in an electronic account similar to a bank account.

Stoxkart NRI Demat Account

The securities are held in the NRI demat account in electronic format. Unlike in most countries where securities are held by the broker, in India, securities like shares, mutual funds, ETFs, and NCDs, etc. are held in the client's demat account. The demat accounts are opened and managed by one of the two government-approved central depositories CDSL and NSDL. The broker acts as an intermediary between the customer and the central depository to service the demat account.

Stoxkart offers an NRI demat account through its CDSL membership.

Key Features

  • The NRI demat account is the same as the demat account for resident Indians.
  • At the time of account opening, NRIs have to choose account type as 'NRI' and subtype as 'Repatriable or Non-Repatriable'.
  • An NRI Bank Account (NRE or NRO) has to be linked with the demat account. The dividend/interest is credited directly to this account.
  • You can appoint another NRI or a resident India as the nominee.

Stoxkart NRI Trading Account

The NRI trading account allows NRIs to trade in securities across BSE & NSE.

Following is the step-by-step Stoxkart NRI trading procedure for trading in the Equity Delivery segment.

Steps to NRI Trading in Shares

  1. Fund Allocation

Transfer funds from NRE/NRO bank account to your PIS Bank Account. The bank informs Stoxkart on the funds transferred and the same is updated as an available limit on your trading account. Please note that the money is not credited to your trading account, at this time, but only the fund limit is made available. You can only trade within the available limit.

  2. Place Order

Use Stoxkart Mobile App, website or the desktop trading platform and place an order to buy/sell shares. As per SEBI and RBI guidelines, you can only trade in delivery based stocks and contracts. Intraday trading is not allowed.

  3. Fund Settlement

At the end of the day, Stoxkart sends a buy contract note to the bank, and the bank debits the funds amounting to the traded value from the PIS account and credits it to Stoxkart. For a 'sell' order, Stoxkart sends a sell contract note to the bank. Stoxkart also credits the PIS bank account with the proceeds from the sale. Note that two separate contract notes, one for all buy transactions and another for all sell transactions are sent to the bank at the end of the day.

  4. Stocks Settlement

Stoxkart credits the stock in your NRI demat account. In case of a sell order, the stocks are debited from your NRI demat account and delivered to the buyer by Stoxkart.
