Anchor Investors in SME IPO

SME IPO anchor investors are large institutional investors that invest a minimum of Rs 1 crore in an IPO. The SME anchors play an important role in an IPO to boost investor confidence and trust in the company.

Generally, SME IPOs are considered risky as they are new business with lesser experience. The minimum investment amount is also higher and SME companies have lesser volatility and liquidity. Thus, retail investors feel reluctant to invest and block funds. However, when anchor investors anchor their funds in a company it increases company’s credibility and inspire retail investors to invest in the company increasing SME IPO demand.

No. of IPOs denote the count of IPOs in which anchor investor has invested funds.
Total Funds invested is the total amount of money invested by the anchor investor.
Total Funds raised through IPO is the total issue size of the issuer companies in which the anchor investor participated.
Average IPO size is the total issue size of the issuer companies in which anchor investor participated/No. of IPOs in which the anchor investor invested funds.
Average PE of IPO's is the total of Price to Earning ratio (P/E) of the IPOs in which the anchor investor participated/No. of IPOs invested in by the anchor investor.
Average listing gain % is total of listing gains in % across all the IPOs in which the anchor investor invested/No. of IPOs invested in by the anchor investor.
Average Subscription times is the total of subscription times across all the IPOs in which the anchor investor invested/No. of IPOs invested in by the anchor investor.
Average current gains % is the total of % gains and losses of all IPOs in which the anchor investor invested/No. of IPOs invested in by the anchor investor.

Dear Sir,
The mainboard anchor investor list is very lengthy and sometimes runs into pages, which makes it difficult to maintain and track. (Eg : LIC Anchor Investor List - https://www.bseindia.com/markets/MarketInfo/DownloadAttach.aspx?id=20220503-1&attachedId=85bebb06-3a20-4571-9eb9-959af5576237), Generally, all big institutional names are part of mainboard IPOs. However in case of SME IPOs, the anchor investor names/list play an important role as it becomes one of the deciding factor for IPO investment based on the anchor investor.
