Incorporated in 1995, SAS Online is an online discount broker. The company started its discount booking services in 2013. It offers trading services in stocks, commodities, currency, future and options. It is a member of NSE, BSE and MCX. The company operates from its centralized office in Delhi.

SAS Online is a Depository Participant (DP) of NSDL. It offers Demat Account services to its customers. The customers of the company can open a 2-in-1 account wherein a Demat account and a trading account is linked to each other.

SAS Online's USP is its low brokerage and unlimited trading plans. It offers 4 different trading plans to suit the different needs of its customers. The company offers both, flat brokerage and unlimited plans. It charges a brokerage of Rs 9/trade flat for all segments under the flat brokerage plan. There are unlimited trading plans of Rs 999/month for equity and commodities. The unlimited plan for currency trading comes at Rs 499/ month for currency trading.

Customers of SAS Online get access to its in-house developed trading platform 'ALPHA'. The platform is available in desktop, mobile and web versions. One of the unique features of "ALPHA" is that its servers are co-located with the exchange. This provides faster trading experience to customers by enabling tick by tick rate updates and fast order routing.

SAS Online serves over 20,000 traders generating more than 7000 crores in daily turnover across different exchanges.

SAS also offers Mutual Funds services to its customers. The company has built an MF platform available on web and mobile. It gives customers access to a variety of funds from different companies.

SAS Online Exposure Limit

Besides low flat brokerage and unlimited trading plans, SAS Online offers margin leverage facility to traders. The margin facility allows customers to trade many times over the funds available in their account. The exposure limit provided by SAS Online varies for different segments. The margin facility for intraday trades in stocks is 20x while it is 5x for commodities. This means that if you have Rs 10,000 in your trading account then you can do intraday trading up to Rs 2 lakh and trade in commodities up to Rs 50,000.

SAS also offers margin facility on holdings held in your Demat account. However, you would need to cover the MTM difference with sufficient funds in your account. To avail margin on your holdings, you would need to transfer your securities to the company's account.

  • The timings for squaring of margin based positions in different segments are-
    • Cash- 3: 15 PM
    • Currency- 4:40 PM
    • Commodity- 11:00 PM
  • Open Positions squared off by admin will be charged at Rs 20 per order.
  • Positions with MTM loss of more than 80% of the capital will be squared off automatically.

You can avail Intraday margins on the holdings if funds are available to cover MTM difference. To avail margin facility on holdings, you would need to transfer shares from your DP to the company's beneficiary account.
