As per the SEBI circular dated November 19, 2019, starting from September 01, 2021, brokers cannot offer additional margin (i.e. 20x) in any segment including intra-day at BSE, NSE and MCX. The company allows trade up to 10 times the funds available in their account on Equity intraday, Equity Futures, Equity Options, and Currency Options. It allows up to 12 times the exposure on Commodity Futures trades and up to 6 times on Currency Futures and Commodity Options trade. The exposure facility on options trades is restricted to sell transactions. The company does not offer leverage on buy Options and carry forward futures position. GCL Securities does not provide a margin trading facility. It provides a loan against shares wherein an investor can take a loan to meet the funding requirements without selling the shares.

GCL Securities' leverage policy offers an attractive leverage facility to its customer. The exposure facility allows customers to trade multiple times over the funds available in their account and increase the probability of earning profits. The leverage is available across all asset classes. In the case of Futures, the exposure is allowed only on Intraday transactions, and in the case of options, the exposure facility is only for sell transactions.

The extent of the margin limit by GCL Securities is different for different stocks. The margin limit depends on the category and quality of the securities. The highest leverage provided by GCL Securities is for Commodity intraday trades that is twelve times the funds in the customer's account. For example, if you have Rs 5,000 in your trading account, you can do intraday Commodity trading up to Rs 60,000. But remember that not all stocks will have the same exposure limit.

The extent of the margin limit provided is different for each security. For low quality and highly volatile stocks, the exposure provided is lesser, and for less volatile and good quality stocks, the extent of margin allowed is a bit higher and maximum up to 10 times.

    For example, if you have Rs 5,000 in your trading account, you can buy/sell stocks up to Rs 50,000 in case of Intraday trades.

     

  5. 5. What is square time in GCL Securities?

    GCL Securities auto-square off starts at 3.10 PM (20 minutes before the market close).

    If you trade Intraday with GCL Securities and have not squared off your positions till 3.10 PM, GCL Securities will initiate an auto-square for all your open positions.
