SEBI has allowed SMEs to list their specified securities on the new Institutional Trading Platform (ITP) of a recognised stock exchange without an IPO.
As a welcome development for the Indian SME, the Indian securities regulator, SEBI, recently allowed listing of SMEs without any requirement of an IPO. SEBI has notified a new set of regulations called the SEBI (Listing of Specified Securities on Institutional Trading Platform) Regulations, 2013 (ITP Regulations) as a new Chapter to the SEBI (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2009 (ICDR Regulations).
