  • Non-Institutional investors bid for over Rs 2 lakhs in an IPO. These include NRIs, HUFs, companies, Indian individuals and trusts bidding for shares worth more than Rs. 2 lakhs.
  • Non-institutional bidders have an allocation of 15% of shares of the total issue size in Book Build IPOs.
  • Registration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is not mandatory for NIIs.
  • Investors cannot submit bids at cut-off prices in this category. They also cannot withdraw their bids prior to allotment.
  • The NII category is not eligible for any discount offered in the Retail category.
