No, the Demat Transaction Fee is charged at additional Rs 8 per transaction on sell side of the trade. This is pretty much standard across all the discount brokers. There is no demat transaction charge on buy side of equity delivery trade.

I opened my account with upstock 2 weeks back. Software is good. I use desktop and its fast.

Two main reasons I opened account with them is because they convinced me about the saving in stamp duty and transaction charge.

So far I haven't done much trading to see the savings but it looks like stamp duty itself is enough big saving with them. So far so good.
