Retail Individual Bidder(s) / RIB(s)

Individual Bidders who bid for the Equity Shares for an amount not more than Rs 200,000 in any of the bidding options are known as Retail Individual Bidders. NRIs and HUFs who apply for less than Rs 2 lakhs in an IPO also fall under the RII category.

A retail investor is someone like you and us. People who scrimp together their savings to invest in equities, commodities, mutual funds, etc. From an IPO perspective, a retail investor applies from an individual account for shares valued under Rs 2 lakh.
