An IPO Bid-Lot is the number of shares which have to be applied for an investor.
IPO Bid Lot is the fixed number of shares an investor can purchase. It is different for each issue. The company sets a minimum lot size that is specified in the application form in advance.
For example, Bharti Hexacom's IPO is priced between Rs 542 and Rs 570 per share and the minimum lot size is 26 shares.
This means that a retail investor cannot apply for less than 26 shares or more than 338 shares. The application for more than 26 shares must be in multiples of 26 e.g. 26, 52, 78, 104, 130, 156, 182, 208, 234, and 260 etc. If you buy 3 lots of this IPO you will buy 78 shares.
Bharti Hexacom Investors can bid for a minimum of 26 shares and in multiples thereof.
