There are only 28 Anchor investors. Bandhan Bank 68 anchor investors. Issue size is more or less equal. Anchor investors not impressive as compare to Bandan.

Half of anchor allocation has been made to various MF houses. Seems like, MFs are quite bullish on it. I Agree that Anchor allocation is not as impressive as Bandhan Bank's, but this ipo will get huge oversubscription. Let's hope for the best.

Around 965618 Total Lots Available for retailers........ so not more then 2 time subscription Expected..

hi sonal,

Why are you misguiding users. No one can predict the subscription rate. It all depends on who wants to invest and also on market condition . An individual investing in one IPO does not guarantee tht he would invest in another IPO
43.3. juju |   Link |  Bookmark | March 21, 2018 8:42:02 PM (300+ Posts, 300+ Likes)
stock master it could be predicted and in fact, this is how system of Kostak works.. for retail investors amount reserved is 401 cr, which certainly means , subscription should be near about 5-6 times

Expensive Issue, not for everyone. I doubt there will be listing gain. Long term the threat of discount brokers and alternative assets will determine the growth of this company. For me there are better options in the secondary market. So its a avoid.

Hi Knightstar,I agree with you, but I will tell you some details...
1) We know the entire process, but their are so many people that have no idea on how and what needs to be done and their fear of doing those things and losing money.
2) For non-discount brokers they will provide you a dedicated broker and they can execute your order over call, which we cannot do in discount broking.
3) Plus the amount for non-discount broker is not very high, so many people dont mind spending if their is convenience.

and that's the reason for applying for this IPO, and ICICI is good name there will certainly no loss with this IPO.

Not my data , it is mentioned in RHP...
"Despite the high competition, the brokerage industry over the years has consolidated in favour of larger brokers. As a result, the market share of the top five brokers increased from 14% of the trading turnover in the NSE cash equities market in fiscal 2013 to 19% in the six months ended September 30, 2017...."

So it means , though discount brokers give good competition but market share of larger full service brokers have increased. ICICI securities takes maximum revenue of about 10% in Rs. 140 billion brokerage industry. But over the recent years their revenue from brokerage business is decreasing because they are diversifying in other segment viz. distribution and investment banking. Hence that risk is being taken care of by their management

In same breathe I must also state what is mentioned in RHP risk 29
Their significant revenue(50%) is earned from only top 5% of 8 lakh customers who are active since last 12 months.

It means that if they move to other brokerage houses, a significant loss of revenue for ICICI securities.

ICICI Securities IPO:
This time ICICI comes with reasonable price. Last time in ICICI Prudential it was overpriced and was listed in discount. ICICI Lombard was also not good on listing.

This time company comes with good price. There is some room available for listing gain. But market sentiments are not favorable.

If we see on parent ICICI, management it is OK but not expert like HDFC. Many analysts now considers ICICI in PSU Banks category.
- Growth in top line and bottom line
- Good branch networks
- Good customer base
- Main revenue coming from brokerages, consultancy fees for investment banking etc. Chances of loss is very less

Conclusion:
I suggest apply for short to long term. On listing something is available as listing gain in spite of bad market condition.

My point was
Edelweiss 4.63
IIFL 4.58
J M Financial 2.73
Motilal 7.49
ICICI securities 25.05

Now these are peers as mentioned in RHP
I just checked on screener for P/BV more than 25 AND MCap atleast 10000 cr, I can't find a single BFSI institution.
So that's why I am amazed and need more answers
38.10. Uchit Patel |   Link |  Bookmark | March 21, 2018 12:48:30 PM (500+ Posts, 1500+ Likes)
Consultancy, brokerages firms are not valued by their book value. It does not make much difference if P/BV is low or high.

If you see New India's P/BV is approximate 2. Still market price is low. They are almost same line of business i.e. selling insurance where no property, machinery required.

ICICI will never let down their IPO, since this is their core business and launching their own IPO is very critical for them (no mistake allowed, like in calculation, evaluation, etc). Therefore, ICICI IPO will be launched on certainly at + of issue price. However, this + will not be bigger due to current market trend but following points to be consider.
Favourable points:
-Under a spam of 15 + and 15 - days, none of the IPO has brand name like this. This will be the best favourable bait for hunters.
-Since market is running low, people are eagerly searching multibagger.
-ICICI is in good books of Govt. And help them in managing their stocks.

None favourable points:
-Offer for sale is never a good sign for any IPO. In addition, IPO objective statements are not conviencing. ICICI already has visibility in market and ICICI itself is an existing brand name. So why IPO? Offer for sale?

37.1. Ashvini |   Link |  Bookmark | March 21, 2018 11:40:36 AM
There will not be much on listing gain(though + listing will be available). Additionally, this will not be good for long term. So if someone buy, target for short-term.
36. juju |   Link |  Bookmark | March 20, 2018 11:06:03 PM (300+ Posts, 300+ Likes)
P/E, PEG, RONW all favour ICICI securities, however , I find Edelweiss, IIFL and JM Financial at reasonable price and should be accumulated. When ICICI sec lists, as worked earlier too, they should go up
35. alok marwadi |   Link |  Bookmark | March 18, 2018 12:36:45 PM
IPO valuation on PE basis appears to be just appropriate if we go by basis for offer price given by the company in prospectus and at BSE site while the issue appears too attractive if we believe what dilip dawda is saying here. please explain.
35.1. alok marwadi |   Link |  Bookmark | March 18, 2018 4:00:13 PM
ICICI Sec. IPO. Sorry dilip you might be wrong. You are giving standalone PE of Elderwiess and and Motilal which are on too low earnig per share which actually are much more on cosolidated results which includes results of Their subsidiaries also. so going by your peers comparision IPO wongly becomes the most attracive. Please correct the same.
35.2. juju |   Link |  Bookmark | March 20, 2018 11:01:52 PM (300+ Posts, 300+ Likes)
Yes Dilip Davda Sir, I too noticed the same. PEERS P/E is very high, as written in your review

Issue price of 520 with face value of 5. If the face values would have been 10 then the issue price would have been 1040. Can some one explain why is this simple calculation wrong in calculation of stock price? Note:I am basing my assumption by seeing the share price of SBI reduce from 2400 to 240 after the face value of share was made to 1 from 10.
34.7. kary |   Link |  Bookmark | March 20, 2018 7:37:04 PM
No Huzefa.

You are partially correct by saying the face value of the share doesn''t matter.
However, the price would not remain the same for any face value.

I think what chitra is trying to explain is irrespective of the face value which although would eventually affect the total no of shares and the share price but not the market cap and therefore the EPS would get adjusted and so the P/E would always remains the same.

In short the valuation of a share never changes based on face value.
i.e. If a share is highly priced at FV 10, it will be highly priced (same valuation) at FV 1 and vice versa.

Hope this helps !

Mr Dilip Dawda review says "For last three fiscals it has posted an average EPS of Rs. 9.25 and an average RoNW of 76.91%. If we annualize latest earnings and attribute it on post issue equity then asking price is at a P/E of 31".
Can somebody clarify, how come the P/E is only 31 when avg EPS is RS 9.25 ? It should be more than 50, right?
