i have offered 2000 shares .how many shares would be buy back

For hedging strategy expecting 20% acceptance ratio, should I sell September future and hold the shares and future position till settlement
or
sell July future and square off after record date and again sell it when tender window gets open and square off after settlement?

For hedging you can do both methods as u say. But I think in August settlement done.
Another thing
Difference between equity & Fut. Is high. 3-5rs gape good as 3rs dividend on july 15.
I done same thing 2 days before. Bought equity shares and sold July future. But i did Trading at 5rs difference between Equity and fut.

You can wait for decrease gape between equity and future prices or

Do trading just before 2 days from ex-date ( 14 july ) . Thn squre of next day after record date ( 15 july ).
In this method you may get loss of 1-3 rs only of difference between prices.

If you do hedge you will get loss becoz futures are trading in discount you will get 3 loss in July and 7 rs loss in Aug

At the first instance, the shares held on the Record Date and tendered for the buyback will be debited. If the shares are not accepted, they will be credited back. In such cases no crediting of the amount of the buyback. If shares are accepted, the resultant amount of the buyback will be credited. I hope that your doubt is cleared.

To understand this, we may refer to TCS buyback process (I could not find same for Matrimony).

19.15 Subject to the provisions contained in the Letter of Offer, the Company will accept the Equity Shares tendered in the Buyback by the Small Shareholders in the Reserved Category in the following order of priority:

19.15.1 Acceptance of 100% Equity Shares from Small Shareholders in the Reserved Category, who have validly tendered their Equity Shares to the extent of their Buyback Entitlement or the number of Equity Shares tendered by them,
whichever is less.

19.15.2 After the Acceptance as described in Paragraph 19.15.1 above, in case there are any Equity Shares left to be bought back from Small Shareholders in the Reserved Category, the Small Shareholders who were entitled to tender zero
Equity Shares (on account of fractional entitlement), and have tendered Additional Equity Shares as part of the Buyback, shall be given preference and one Equity Share each from such Additional Equity Shares shall be bought
back in the Reserved Category.

I think para 19.15.2 makes it clear that shareholders tendering 1 share will be considered only after other shareholders's entitlement has been considered. As the demand for buyback will be high, I doubt that tendering one share will work 100%. But still, I am inclined towards this experiment.
