Hello,
This has got to be one of the most frustrating experiences that I have had with government services in a long time. The reason for the delay, I am told is, huge number of applications due to demonetization and year end. But are there no experienced people in your departments to anticipate challenges and identify fixes for them ? You can reach the help desk once after 30 odd attempts at calling only to be told, please check the status after four days AND we will escalate to the concerned department. I wonder whether India is still stuck in 1947 !!! Look at the misery the delay is causing to the common man - can''t get bank loan, can''t open account, can join a job. Just who is there to address the concerns of the tax payer ? Did multiple postings in this site, still no response from NSDL. God save India !!!

I have submitted a PAN application for my spouse on 18th Feb. Status showing - Pan card will be dispatched to you shortly on 13 March. Again advised to check after four days on call !!!
