Can the long term capital gains arising out of sale of land be invested in a REIT and held for 05+years to save LTCG? Can some expert / CA throw light on this?

@COOPER Yes! But this Rural or Urban has become a big conundrum as no one is able to answer. The aerial distance should be more than 02 kms from the limits of a municipality. No one can certify this. And again it falls in the jurisdiction of a Gram Panchayat so I don't know whether that municipality criteria can even apply. Unfortunately even the CA was unable to help.

@Nothing New i guess if population is less than 10000 then it is rural agricultural land.....
I am not sure if u can proceed to INCOME TAX AUTHORITIES to know your Taxability.

HDFC Defence NFO starts on 19th May and ends on 2nd June. This is a sector based fund and has its own risk, however, based on the current trend on India;s spend on defence sector and Make in India policy, this should be a good investment for medium term strategy.
One thing to note in NFO, unlike IPO this one does not have any benefits, you can very well buy once it hits the market on the current NAV price which will be almost the same as issue price at least for a few days as NAV moves up/down.
You can buy on NFO thru your broker or groww, kuvera, coin (Zerodha) for direct funds.

WILL SELL BETWEEN 106-107 OTHERWISE WILL WAIT FOR A WEEK OR SO

Will not sell or even look at the trade. Wil hold for 8.5% tax free income from this.

As fractional allotments have been given, I presume the minimum trading lot would be 1 unit just like other listed Equity Shares. Any contra opinion?

@Eklavya , you're right. A friend applied 3 lots in a single application and got one lot of 150 shares. I believe there were a lot of incorrect applications or failed mandates; we'll see in the BOA. I should have accepted the mandate, especially since for REIT UPI mandate duration is extended till 12 PM the next day.

But no regrets. I hope you and everyone who has received will get at least 450 profit per lot. All the best!
