LIC is ranked fifth globally by life insurance GWP (comparing our Corporation’s life insurance premium for Fiscal 2021 to our global peers’ life insurance premium for 2020) and 10th globally in terms of total assets (comparing our Corporation’s assets as at March 31, 2021 with other life insurers’ assets as at December 31, 2020). (Source: the CRISIL Report).
They have the e largest asset manager in India as at September 30, 2021, with AUM (comprising policyholders’ investment, shareholders’ investment and assets held to cover linked liabilities) of Rs 39,558,929.24 million on a standalone basis, which was (i) more than 3.3 times the total AUM of all private life insurers in India,
(ii) approximately 16.2 times more than the AUM of the second-largest player in the Indian life insurance industry in terms of AUM, (iii) more than 1.1 times the entire Indian mutual fund industry’s AUM and (iv) 18.5% of India’s annualized GDP for Fiscal 2022.

All my family members are policy holders of LIC since decades. Apply in both Retail and policy holders quota in all demat acct.
Be sure, GOI will leave enough on the table for IPO investors.

In my view if SEBI gives exemption to LIC for reservation for policy holder then what is wrong in banks allowing reservation for their customers
SEBI should be cautious in opening a new door. Its job is not to bail out LIC or GOI

Current ISSUE OF CAPITAL AND DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS) REGULATIONS dont provide for reservation other than employees and shareholders of parent or subsidiary company (excluding promoters)
So the question is why SEBI should create a special regimen for LIC. Policy thinking needs to be impartial

"In the Finance Bill 2021-22, it has been proposed to have a reservation on a competitive basis, to an extent of up to 10 per cent of the issue size, in favour of life insurance policyholders of LIC," Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said in a written reply to a query in the Rajya Sabha.

Also Sebi may give its comments possibly in 3 weeks as speculated by dipam secretary Tuhin Kant Pandey, this will set a new record itself.

Apna mind use karne ke bajay kewal post copy karne me vishwas rakhte hai .

As per chankya ni pothi ipo price may be 1693-2962 per share . As per me even 1693 is quite high like paytm

Yes

If policy holder will get 10 % discount from issue price then I will apply under policy holder quota only and not in retail quota ... Otherwise avoid this IPO .

FIIs and DIIs will be appetized by Central Government. So there will be no issues of under subcription

In these times, Every mf/fii/pequity will be having same concern as we all have on pricing. So hopefully LiC will come up with reasonable ipo price (and that too with some discounts to policy holders/retail investor) to leave something on the table for every investor. Untill this happens, let us wish. 😊

This IPO's success depends on appetite of FIIs. If FIIs are ready to more more than 50k crore than it will be success otherwise it will fail.
