In my understanding, allotment of oversubscribed IPO depends on the company. They may choose the below (or more methods)..

1. Minimum lot for each application

2. Pro-Rata of No. of shares allocated for each application based on the over-superscription:

Ex.
Total Shares 2000
Total Applications3000
Applied for 600
Pro-Rata = 600*2000 /3000=400
You get 400 shares

3. First come first (FIFO)..

Or a mix of the above. Hard to say which exact algorithm they may follow
