Please advice, is there no minimum quantity..

Correct. I had 1 share each of HDFC in three of my demat accounts. Hence could apply for 169 shares each in share holder quota. Got allotment of 46 shares each. Learned the lesson after HDFC Life IPO.
I already have one share each of ICICI Bk, Axis Bank, and SBI in my demat account. Today purchased one share each of Kotak Bank. Yes Bank anyway is one of my portfolio stocks.
ICICI and SBI had share holder quota when their subsidiaries were listed. Kotak, Axis, Yes may have. It is better to be safe.

HDFC AMC SHAREHOLDER CATEGORY.

Lost out on a big opportunity.
Applied for one lot as a shareholder of HDFC and allotted one lot.

However it was not clear to me that a shareholder could apply for more than one lot and get more shares allotted.
Thinking that the shareholder category also works on the same pattern as RII or retail category,applied for one lot only, assuming that in case of oversubscription, every successful bidder will get only one lot. Although i was regularly going through this forum, i don't know how I missed this point.

Anyway have to learn from mistake.
Boarders should have insisted that all shareholders apply for maximum number and not restrict to one lot only.
Can't find fault with them though.
Paid a penalty for my ignorance and false assumption.

Friends,I have applied for 156 shares under Shareholder catagory,but I have been allotted
only 13 shares,Can any friend guide me in the matter-whether its right or any misconcept
at Karvy level ?

@ajiths.. to Kal ko hdfc bonus share ya split declare krti h and hdfc ka price 1100 ho jata h, to tum allow karoge Kya ki Haan Bhai ab AMC ka price 2200 ho sakta h.

Share price is just indicative. Based on that you can't tell which company is bigger. Correct your basics.

Sold 1 lot @1820, keeping 1 lot for next 1-2 days and remaining 2 lots for long term.. Congrats everyone

For 2nd lot, expecting target of 1900 with stop loss of 1750. What you guys think will hit first ?

i got 46 shares in shareholder category out of applied 169 but didn't got in retail....

Many have got in both shareholder and retail including myself.

Long term investors Don't sell and attract short term capital gains..

EOD you'll get to know which fund has bought it in huge qty, if any. Then decide whether to hold or sell.

Short and medium term Investors can exit at 1,800++
People planning to hold beyond 3 years can carry forward positions

1900 is on the cards, do not sell less than that for intraday
