Put Option

An Option contract where the buyer gets the right but not the obligation to sell an underlying at a specified price and within a specified period.

Put option is a contract that gives an option buyer (the holder) the right (but not the obligation) to sell the underlying asset (stock, commodity, currency, etc.) at a pre-specified price (strike price) for a certain, fixed period of time (expiry date).
