What is Aadhaar Card or Aadhar?

Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique identification number (UID) given by government of India which helps to verify individual identity all over the country. It is unique number for every person whose uniqueness is determined through the biometric (fingerprints, iris scan, photograph) and demographic (residential address) details.
