How to get a duplicate aadhaar card?

You don’t actually get a “duplicate”—UIDAI lets you download a reprint or order a fresh reprint of your Aadhaar.

Download Aadhaar (Free)

You can download the digital copy (masked or full Aadhaar) from UIDAI.

Steps:

1. Go to: UIDAI → My Aadhaar → Download Aadhaar
2. Enter: Aadhaar number / Enrolment ID (EID) / Virtual ID (VID)
3. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number
4. Download the PDF e-Aadhaar

This PDF is valid everywhere just like the physical card.

Order Aadhaar Reprint

If you want a physical copy delivered to your home:

Steps:

1. Go to UIDAI → My Aadhaar → Order Aadhaar Reprint
2. Enter Aadhaar number or VID
3. Verify with OTP
4. Pay ₹50
5. UIDAI sends the printed Aadhaar via Speed Post

Visit Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centre

If you do not have your mobile number linked or can’t receive OTP:

1. Visit nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra / Bank / Post Office Aadhaar centre
2. Provide your Aadhaar number or give biometric verification
3. Ask them to print your Aadhaar
4. They will give a PVC card printout (nominal charges apply)
