Hi,

Please note Trade Smart Online states their brokerage is Re 15/order however there are hidden charges.
They charge an additional 15/scrip on a sale transaction, hence the effective charge comes to around 17.5 per order for a buy-sell pair.

THIS CHARGE IS NOT SHOWN IN THEIR ONLINE BROKERAGE CALCULATOR.

On calling them, the expected response was received, which is a characteristic of hidden charges "It is a part of your contract, please see your contract".

On questioning further, they agreed that it is not shown in the online brokerage calculator (which goes to the extent of showing, STT, Turnover Charges, Service Tax,Edu. Cess & Higher Edu. Cess, SEBI Fee etc.) but stated that this is a SEBI charge, hence not shown.

I checked NSE website for other charges, it doesnt state any other charge besides SEBI Turnover, Stamp Duty, Service Tax and STT.

Its strange that in this day and age, businesses expect to be successful with such petty cons.

Happy to provide supporting evidence to the above facts.

Correction
Effective buy and sell charge is 22.5.

15 + 15 + 15 = 45 for 2 transactions - buy and sell.

Hello Parag Seth,

We are sorry to know you were not aware of these charges. We try our best to keep everything transparent and we''ll see if there''s some other place we should mention these charges.

Actually, Rs 15 per scrip selling in delivery is a demat transaction charge. The brokerage calculator displays charges related to trading only. Our list of charges which includes these charges can be found at the below url:

http://tradesmartonline.in/knowledgebase/where-can-i-find-a-list-of-all-the-charges-applicable/

Demat transaction charges are charged by the company where you hold your demat account. In this case since the demat account is also with us, this charge is being levied by us.

You''ll find these charges are charged by all brokers. Most of them will bill you at the end of the month for the same. We apply these charges on the date of the transaction itself to be more transparent and keep things easier for you to track .

In case you have any other questions please do let us know.
