My dear n kumar ji,
Both shilpi cable and omkar have never trapped the trader those sitting infront screen on listing day.
1).You can recollect what happened regarding shilpi,
it has listed around Rs 79/- and gone upto Rs 83 from there it has gone upto Rs 45 without any confusion. Those made a short while crossing issue price have got hand some profit even he was long at Rs 83 (83-69 =14)< (69-45=24).

2).In case of omkar it has stayed above issue price more than some seconds where some lakhs of shares traded already by that time. The people who made short after price crossed its issue price(fundametal rule of IPos)got windfall profit without any hesitation and any confusion.

Dear vas nat,
I have gone through the report 1 month back. But there are some errors in calculations, major one being people while comparing an upcoming issue with an existing one get their mathematics wrong. They had calculated Mannapuram present P/BV & PE with Muthoot finance last year financials.I expect the price to be 170-190 & FY11 EPS post IPO equity to be around 12 which means IPO is coming around 15-16 Trailing PE which makes it a decent issue.
People jump the gun & give their analysis before hand without making it an apple & apple comparison.Same was done by first choice ipo analyst Prasanna who compared previous year Lovable financials with current year maxwell & page industries.

US stocks fell late on Friday as a spike in oil prices revived worries that inflation would derail the recovery, jolting a market that had been treading water ahead of corporate earnings.
The uncertain outcome of budget talks in Washington and the prospect of a US government shutdown as a midnight deadline loomed spurred investors to buy protection ahead of the weekend. Many traders bought short-term put options on the SPDR S&P 500 Trust.
"The tape is heading south in light volume. People are hoping that nothing bad happens over the weekend," said Michael James, senior trader at regional investment bank Wedbush Morgan in Los Angeles.
The surge in oil prices drove down shares of airlines and transportation companies. The Arca Airline index shed 2.7% and the Dow Jones Transportation Average fell 1.7%.
Brent crude futures settled above USD 126 a barrel, the highest level in 32 months, as the weak dollar drove up commodities and intense fighting in Libya raised fears of prolonged supply cuts.
Trading volumes remained low, a sign that investors are holding off major new bets ahead of the release of quarterly earnings beginning next week.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 29.44 points, or 0.24%, at 12,380.05. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 5.34 points, or 0.4%, at 1,328.17. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 15.72 points, or 0.56%, at 2,780.42.
For the week, the Dow rose 0.03% while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq each lost 0.3%.
Trading volume was 6.47 billion shares on the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE Amex and Nasdaq, compared with last year's estimated daily average of 8.47 billion.
The S&P faces resistance around 1,345, near its 2011 high. Many analysts believe earnings could be the catalyst that pushes the benchmark index through that resistance.
"If the earnings next week are robust enough, we might go above 1,350, which is the top of the trading range. But since the market is very complacent, we might easily turn the other way if we see a negative outlook," said James Meyer, chief investment officer at Tower Bridge Advisors in West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
The earnings season will begin unofficially when Dow component Alcoa Inc reports results after the market's close on Monday. JPMorgan Chase & Co and Google Inc are due to report later in the week.
Bullishness has risen to levels not seen since last December before earnings, according to a survey by Investors Intelligence.
Bucking the downtrend on Friday, commodity-related shares rose with higher oil and metals prices. Occidental Petroleum Corp rose 2.6% to USD 103.72 and the S&P Energy index was up 0.4%.
Copper rose 2.5% while gold hit record highs on Friday and silver reached its strongest level since early 1980, as investors snapped up inflation-sensitive raw materials as a hedge. US listed shares of miner Rio Tinto Plc rose 2.1%.
The White House and Congress faced a midnight deadline to break a budget deadlock. Democratic and Republican leaders said there was still no overall deal on government funding for the rest of the fiscal year.

Read Tulsian's opinion not as Shilpi touching 150, but as the price of 1 share touching 50! It crossed 50 on the downside and went even to 46 odd! So his target met!
Jokes apart I am reminded of the listing of MOIL where operators shorted heavily in the morning using the buying mood of poor investors. The same could have happened here also and they would have made merry today shorting at 80 odd and covering at 46 odd.

"Be ready to have some mouth watering price in Shilpi Cables. But dont be greedy try to exit in early hours."

It was my feelings yesterday before listing.

Which made me more sure when S.P. Tulsyan mentioned , It may touch 150 today morning.

What obvious to every one never happens in stock market.

dear Mr Ripin Shore,

All trades in sbi bond in Ahmedabad have been done with commission & interest so whatever interest you got, will go to the purchaser of your application. Further, SBI has declared book closure as 15/03/2011 for interest for the period commencing from 15/03/2011 so again you will get another interest around Rs. 450/ or so on the app. of 1K. This also will go to the purchaser. You are only concerned with the amt. for which you have sold your app.
