NTPC 232.25- Target 249-256 area, 263-274 area or even 285+, Stop-loss 205. Support 229-216 range.

If stop-loss is breached, fall to 201.

Validity: Till January Future & Options expiry.

My view is based on technical analysis. Stop-loss is important.

NTPC is trading currently @ 230 - 235 per share. So the govt will offer the share at a lower price. If they offer @ 240 to 250 everyone will buy from the secondary market!! FPO will be under subscribed... The FPO will be priced around 190-210 range leaving retail investors a good chance of atleast 15 % appreciation in a couple of weeks!! Also note as french auction method will be used all FII/Mutualfunds / COrporates will be buying @ a higher price which would be as high as 250 or even more...

pl have enough knowledge before posting anything. Pl don't misguide people. In PSU shares all people made enough money ( except NHPC ) even incase of NHPC we are just looser by 70 paisa as on date.if u cary for that loss in this market than better stay away.........on listing day we all have enough chance to sell them at 39-40 rs. but we just like to blame GOVT........Oil india gave 20 % return....& all PAST PSU IPO HAS EXCELLENT RETURN.

SO DONT BE BIAS & MISGUIDE PEOPLE

IPO: Initial public offer , when first time shares are issued by a company in the share market, after listing its shares can be traded in share market.
FPO : follow on public offer, NTPC is already listed company in share market, already listed company can can bring FPO in share market.

O MERE Watan ke logo, Jara Aankh me bhar lo paani.
Jo sahid hue hai unki jara yaad karo kurbani.

Sahid ka matlab jin logo ne NHPC (Nahai Hai Paublic Company) mein paisa LOSS kar diya wo log aaj bhi CRY kar rahe hai.

Confirm and Guaratnteed loss up to 30% post FPO as already price increased more than 40% within two months to LOOT the investors at maximum rate.

Similar case will happen with NMDC, MMTC, REC, SAIL etc. Govt. will LOOT at maximum rates.

Already Govt. LOOTED the investors in NHPC. Similar case will happen with NTPC, NMDC, MMTC, REC, SAIL etc. Govt. will LOOT at maximum rates.

Happy loss to all who are planning to apply for NTPC FPO and those who have applied in NHPC (Nahi Hai Public Company)

Govt is spreading rumours in ntpc for FPO price 240 to 255 etc. In fact govt is playing mental game with investors. As I think the will keep price band 220 to 230. In fact most reasonable price is Rs 200 per share. In oil india govt has spreaded rouhmors for price band of rs 1500 to 1600 but they offered price band very lee. I surprise Government is not ready to learn lesson from NHPC ipo. for which every investor abused to disinvestment priceband committee.

if you think fpo price ois expensive, it simple.... dont apply..
why you are crying here. it is of no use.. only thing you can do is staying away from expensive issues...
remember the people who make extraordinary money may loose also... think of laymon brothers. they made lot of money and lost everything.. see now where is laymon.... ha ha ha...

i think govt. should give 5% discount to retail investor on price band
15. FPO Price |   Link |  Bookmark | January 15, 2010 8:45:49 PM

Today,

Engineers India increase 20% - Closed at 2079.00 (1733.00).

NMDC was up by 13%

MMTC was up by 10%

Now, Govt. will LOOT to Investors at maximum rates in NTPC, SAIL, NMDC, REC, Engineers India. After FPO price of these shares will be fall by more than 20%.

After that all will be CRY like NHPC. Still peoples are crying by investing in NHPC but there is no use. Because, Govt. has already LOOTED.

12. Raja |   Link |  Bookmark | January 15, 2010 5:47:17 PM
There is good job if someone sell NHPC (Nahi Hai Public Company) because, now there is no use to hold this share as Govt. already LOOTED at maximum rate. Until and unless there is FPO, price will not increase.

Earlier I have told that prices of REC, NMDC, MMTC, SAIL, NTPC etc. will increase drastically. Now, see yourself what happened in these shares. Prices of these shares increased by more than 20% in a month. Because, now Govt. will LOOT to public in these companies. After FPO prices of these companies will also be down by more than 20%.

I have already sold my NHPC on listing day itself as I knew the Govt. policy that to LOOT investors at maximum rates. Now, I am happy that I have already sold at 37/-.

I have told that JSW Energy is good and i have applied for that. You see the result at least too better than NHPC.

Happy loss to all who have applied in NHPC and planning to apply for these FPO.

Dont buy NTPC FPO. Just got this analysis from some analyst

Nice analysis
==============
During 2003,Tata power share price was something around 112 RS per share and also the company has very very less MW power productions in place. The same Currently(2010)Tata power overall capacity is 2,786 MW overall production and trading something around 1500 RS....

Tata power Compare with JSW energy..JSW energy has 995 MW currently in production and also trading something around 120 RS.If we go 10 months down the line jsw energy going to achive 3140 MW overall power generation capcity, almost they going to be a leader in private power production.....Surely JSW energy will achieve 500 to 700 RS within 10 to 12 months.

Nhpc ke halat deko, govt retalers ko tope pahnanay kay liyay ntpc ka rate artificialy bada rahi hi, fpo kay bad kam say kam 20 30% ka lose pakaa hi.
7. vish |   Link |  Bookmark | January 15, 2010 10:12:54 AM
@boyoka, i suppose French auction means, that the Institutions (FII/MF) will be issued on the basis of rate. The bidder who bids at the higher price will be issued the shares first, and then to the next lower bid.. there is not limit for them(no price band).
for retailers, it ll be offered at the cutoff price..
6. Ravi, Bangalore |   Link |  Bookmark | January 15, 2010 10:07:22 AM
5. boyoka

A French auction is a uniform-price auction used for pricing initial public offerings in France.

In this offering, NTPC announces a minimum (reserve)price. Investors place sealed bids for quantity and price. When the bids are in, NTPC negotiates a minimum and maximum price with the SEBI.

Any bid above the maximum price is eliminated as a virtual market order. The bidders who bid between the minimum and maximum price are awarded shares on a pro rata basis, each paying the minimum price.

In the event that demand for the stock is too high, the FPO may be changed to fixed-price offering.
