Not a Guru/Mentor, just sharing my observation from today.
500 seems to be a good strong resistance for today.
if closing above that, you can keep it as SL for tomorrow.

It drifted below 500 today. I guess tomorrow it is better to exit if it gets around 525. My worries no bulk deal reported so far despite tremendous QIB response. Bulk deals are what drives after such stellar (still feeling subdued 😉) listing. So for me it is not easy to decide if to hold or exit on next good opportunity. Expected it to touch base 600 but ...nahi. PayTM: "Hum to doobenge sanam tumhe bhi le dubenge!"

Some Experts had expressed holding long, so wonder if they still holding after 150% profit on day one?

Not sure about others, but I bought 1 lot (76 shares) today at around 500 price.
So, I am bullish on this for sure.

@Cold burger If there are no block deals it doesn''t mean that it will go down ....and Similarly if there are block deals then also it doesn''t mean it will go up ....
Eg:- In cartrade there was many block deals in 1500-1600 range and now trading at 1000..... Similarly in Sansera block deals were there between 800-830 and it went down to 710 ... However recovered later on due to good results ...so block deals not a big criteria as per me ..I might be wrong

@Lokes exactly if those block deals had not happened in cartrade at that time then I might had exited between 1450-1500 ....from that day block deals doesn''t matter for me 😂

I think @lokes had bought it in pre open at 512 and if not averaged his buying price is 512 ....So once share will cross 512 then only he will think of selling or exiting....

Ya today first time I bought in preopen, as I posted, so my buy price is 512 , I have not done averaging and will not do. One time I will sell it around 570-600 levels if I get in some days/weeks then later will enter again if getting lower levels, or will keep holding for long term

was told 512 ka stop loss toda so i was out in full allotment. par last 3pm ko lalach jaga to firse kharid liya he abhi stop loss he 461. will out if 461 break once...

i too bought yesterday at 493/- and added some more today at 562/-

Left 50 free shares on fate. Was expecting early morning bounce which did not happen for approx. 2hrs so exited 26 Qty.

@Lokes 200 qty @512!! Great to see your judgement working well. I worry about LC game.. is that possible in this scrip? It is trading not only UC/LC so i guess it is not 100% operators game!

@Lokes: Can you help me understand why the some times By bids/off total reached 20L/5L and switches the number within minute? IS it operator''s game? If so then should not we exit at 700?

@ColdBurger : there are very very few shares/opportunities where we can be almost 99% sure of future moves :)
Like i was sure in nykaa and i posted also but there since i got allotted 2 lots in ipo from 2 different HNI applications so i didn''t bought more in preopen but i regret for that since i was knowing already it will move up after listing, so i missed more profit which i could have earned by short term trade by buying in preopen, So in latent view i tried that, since even if it would not move after listing then for sure it will do good in long term so there was minimum risk.

@coldburger: yes operator can play games in any shares but it all depends on your holding period view. if you want to keep for 6-12 months or more then no need to afraid of short term moves else keep stoploss or be watchful if u want to book profit in short term.

I also bought in pre-open for the first time in my life (get feeling) and added later that day, total quantity 76 (1 lot of IPO). Average price approx 500, gaining good profit for now, 34%.

Nykaa,
Got 1 lot from IPO allotment, added 18 (1.5 lot more) quantity later in parts, total 30.
34% return as of now.

@krupa @neolongus: that''s why i want to book profit once in short term. I am keeping stoploss at 649 and holding, will sell today/tomorrow for sure once crossing 700 or else if stop loss hitting.

I am planning to hold for few more days with trailing stop loss of 50-75 rs.

@GJ: ya that''s good strategy. Even no need to sell if holding for long term.
But i will sell tomorrow all my 200 shares for sure by eod, as i said, and will keep strict stop loss tomorrow also soon from after opening and then trailing as per tomorrow share price moves. 40K profit is good enough for short term for me. I may enter again here if getting lower price again for long term with lesser investments.

@GJ: How you set trailing stop loss? Can i set in Zerodha Kite Mobile?

It is manual process of trailing SL every now and then, No automated way.
I am also using Zerodha Kite only.
Simply set GTT for Latent with following details,
1. Sell
2. Single
3. Trigger Price 650
4. Quantity as per your choice or max quantity in holding
5. Price 625

It will set a GTT as when Latent will move from 700 to 650, will activate a Sell order with 625+ price.
25 rs difference will make sure that even if it falls quickly, should give enough buffer for our Sell order to execute.
Mostly, if triggered, you will get an average price of 645+ for your sell order.

You can trail this as soon as Price moves upward to make sure you exit in profit with some buffer left to let price fluctuate in between.

@ColdBurger: Trailing means just a english word which here means keep increasing our stop loss order price also when actual share price is increasing to lock our profits in case of fall or sudden fall. Other than what @GJ mentioned, you can read below, i use SL-M order usually for stop loss.

Thanks @GJ and @lokes for explaining. I do understand manual stop loss and have used on few occasions and caused loss to me like in Zomato it hit 123 as if market knew i have such trigger and returned from that point on that day🤣🤣

Last year after joining Zerodha i followed their Varsity course material and that gave me understanding of trailing stop loss as automated one but i did not find that option in zerodha. May be some brokers provide those automated trigger as well.

TSL (Trailing Stop Loss) was allowed in BO (Bracket Orders) some time back.
That too for intraday only. They stopped it, not sure when.

I use GTT (VTC for other brokers) mainly, as don''t have to set Sell Order (Limit or SLM) daily like @lokes mentioned.
Because some days, I can''t actively monitor market because of driving, interviews, office works, etc...
So GTT is best for me.

Small story before IRCTC split happened,
few days back, I forgot to put GTT or Sell order for IRCTC when crossed 6300+(something),
After 30 min, when I checked, it was below 5500 something.
So, I learnt my lesson that day and now have GTT for almost every long term holding or stocks with good returns.

@GJ/@coldburger: Till now,i was using only SL-M orders in zerodha, i will also understand GTT and try, was not aware of it.

Sold all my 200 shares at 755 rs today, which i bought in preopen at 512.
May enter again at lower levels if getting for long term.

I also thought of selling Latent today, considering broader market situation, Red Red Red.
But then didn''t exit.
Even was worried for Tarsons, 2 lots, as of now performing good.
Didn''t exit Tarsons too.

@GJ: lucky you, saved from stop loss. congrats. I anyways bought with high quantity and for short term to book profit once. Anyways i was thinking someone will say something about my sell price of 755 rs today but no comments :)

i know its hard to believe 755rs as its exactly the highest price today in BSE but it was just luck/co-incidence that i put sell order at 755 and it got executed in some seconds fully before i was trying to remove it and setting stoploss. I would be happy to share zerodha/kite screenshot if anyone can provide mail id since even for me too it would be really hard to believe if someone else would be saying that.

@lokes congrats... I was tracking the price movement but could not sell at 750.. it came down within seconds and stooped to 660 level got scared but still holding.
Should put sell order for 750 by chance if it moves up again?

Agreed, hard to believe selling at the exact high price for today, but sometimes coincidence happens.

If you can, Latent is still going strong in this market fall, my suggestion would be to hold for few more days/weeks for better results with SL of 650 or so.
P.S.: I am holding with 650 SL.

@coldburger: ya GJ is right, since latent is holding strong today also so it''s a good sign and anyways as I said for long term, keep holding this for 1000-1200 levels in 6-12 months without any worry for short term moves. I may enter again if getting around 600-650.
I sold today because I bought more quantities for short term play only, so wanted to book profit once, if I was allotted in ipo, then I wouldn''t be selling it like still holding nykaa, clean science, Zomato, tatva chintan and many other good stocks from ipo.

Finally relaxed.. My both portfolio tanked 20k /25k today. One still green mainly due to Latent and it did not close below 650.

For Latent,
Again feeling lucky today. GTT was triggered because it went below 650.
But the price was 625 and today''s LC limit on both exchanges was 626-627, my Sell order was rejected saying,
"Your order price is lower than the current lower circuit limit of 626.40. You can place an order within the range or use GTT for long-standing orders."

and now it recovered back to above 650. 😁

I did not put any stop loss but missed Prince pipe at 715, less margin argh....

I had a very bitter experience for Prince Pipe.
I was allotted in IPO, 2 accounts at 178.😀
After listing we went below 100 also, I did hold.😒
then when it came back to 178, I sold, cost to cost.✌
then it went till 700+ levels, I regretted.😢

Sold LV @718 and bought @640 again.. not sure why i did that..but move was good....kept some amount to avg if it falls again..but I think it''s holding good now.

If i had that sixth sense..i would have sold tarsons...but I didn''t.....either way +ve in both stocks till results come in.
LV has a shareholder meet tomorrow. Maybe they''ll announce the dates for results today itself.
