There have been multiple IPO from insurance sector, and there is investor fatigue.Issue is fully priced and management also does not expect any listing blip. Better for keen investors to buy from secondary market.

For HDFC Shareholder Record Date is 18th Oct. For HDFC BANK SHAREHOLDER there is no preference at all. One share is enough for applying shareholder category. One share or any number of quantity is shares you have is no difference priority at all.One thing you have to remember you cant bid above two lakhs. That means For Retail and Shareholder category you cant exceed the two lakhs amount.

Subject 2 allotment kostak has started which means that the issue will have more than 1x subscription. So no point in applying for 2L applications.

If a issue oversubscribes, all applicants will not get allotment. Priority will be given to give 1 lot to each applicant so those who have bid for more than 1 lot will loose interest on investment or may have to face loss if they sell in grey market assuming full allotment.

Looking into GMP and Kostak price, it seems that in RII category, oversubscription shall be around 1.12 times only.

GMP 18/- x 50 = 900/-
Kostak 800/-.

Selling forms @800/- is better. If oversubscription is 2 - 3 times then much gain in Kostak.
