LIC bought 1 lac shares of gravita @ 208

Lots of people had this problem today with ICICIDIRECT. In Moneycontrol powergrid message board people have complained about the problem and their losses in gravita today.

Most of the time, I also have problem with SBICAPSEC. It is one of the worst trading platform. Most of the time it says like system is under cooling. So we cannot do anything except watching the live price of the scrips. I changed to vista from XP. So its not working at all. You can see the price at the time of logging in and I have to give the trigger price/sell price by just guessing it or looking into other websites. Big banks like ICICI and SBI have very strange trading platforms like this. Don't know when I will get out of it.

Hell, I just spoke to KARVY for my Refund -
They said it will get credited by this week.

KARVY are really very slow for this process they should be banned from registrar for any upcoming IPO's .

Thanks a lot for your concerns. If I had opened the ICICIdirect site when I wanted, I could have sold at a higher price than what I finally managed. Thats what worried me. I am such a person who does not feel bad unless I lose heavily as I did in Shree Ganesh jewellary. I am only happy after the dust has settled in this issue.

You probably know all of this but thought of writing something...

brokerages associated with banks give poor service and charge high. Go for a pure broker...there are so many of them. Open accounts with two brokerages. If one freezes you can atleast monitor prices using the other and use call and trade to place orders.

ICICDirect charges are EXORBITANT - just dump them. If ICICDirect web page freezes use their call and trade...if you have the access code it'll be faster.

Sold 250 shares at 243.8 ,and recived all refunds at 10 am.

Yours is a classical case in Stock market. Here one who earns feels sad and who does not also feels sad. You earned, but you are sad. You wanted peak price which only one can get. All others are in the middle. Be happy with yourself if you earned and did not loose. Do not look at others. Without looking at peak which know only now, think what good or bad you did. Better it next time. Follow, 'GITA'. See only if your action were right at that moment, were it done thoughtfully, without greed of fear etc. Results are not in your hand.

Gravita is high risk holding.

Look at the close. It had closed at the low price of the day. People booked profit at higher (highest to be precise) price are smart.
Others book profit now. The hyped bubble is not going to continue for long time.

This clearly shows poor fundamental and strength of company.

I appiled through SMC,they reply it will take 30-45 days.

Could you please confirm anyother way to get back the money as soon as possible.

Have you sold all your holdings? Did you short sell at any time today? I made a mistake of not selling when I had the chance of selling at 250, for the shares bought as well as allotted. I had a feeling of 'come what may' today and when I had trouble in opening the ICICIdirect site, I thought enough is enough and sold. I have not also got it back as I did not like the way it closed.

After struggling for 1 hour I succeeded in opening ICICIdirect page and modified my order put at 299 (I thought the freeze at 250 could be released) and sold the allotted 50 at market for 217. I think I made a mess of the whole thing and ICICIdirect site, which was adamant that it will not open, did not help me either.

IPO refund not received : I understand banker to the issue sees to make additional money for 3 days 16,17 and 18 and hence decided not to release monwy yeasterday on 15-Nov-10 (As per SEBI rule they have to return the money to investor within 12 days). SEBI Please wake-up!!! Our powergrid application is coming for fill up
