Yes, people do it. They sell from one pan account , book loss in it, and buy next day. Otherwise , sell in one account and buy in another account same day. So that loss can be setoff against profit incurred earlier

@Kapz, only companies with decent fundamentals bounce back. Becoz general psychology of human mind is NOT to book loss. But once loss is booked, they will not go for same company, if the fundamental is not good. It is normal human psychology

U bought at very high price (it has all the way rallied from 300 to 935 and u almost bought at 52 week high).

No doubt it is very good stock with reasonable valuation of 15 PE and ROE of 19% and ROCE of 24% and good growth prospects being in shipbuilding industry. It will rise provided market stabilizes (sometimes market sentiments play very crucial role regarding performance of individual companies like the current situation).

U can stay invested as it will recover within this calendar year to a price above ur buy price. Patience pays in good companies.

Yes you can do it.

You can create Sweep FD in any bank accounts and apply for IPO, and can enjoy higher rate of interest.
Sweep in FD is available in almost all banks

I have doubt on your data for Tata Technology..... EPS is for 2021-22 of Tata Technology is Rs. 10-11 and if they bring at 1,000.. Stock P/E will be 100.. if you see current P/E of Tata Elxsi - 53, TCS - 28...

Even I doubt the price band as it is coming from Tata and not Adani (Expensive valuation).

They will leave enough margin of safety for investors especially in this kind of market. This market will be volatile and risky at least till middle of this year provided no further negative surprises.

Price band was expected to be 400-450. It seems to be very High.

We all have same sources of news. One day there is a news and other day there is another on the same point.
As per Business Standard updated on10.03.23, TTL seeks to raise 4000cr according to DRHP filed. TTL proposed IPO will involve secondary sale upto 95.7 million shares, consisting 23.6% of the company. TML 81.1 million shares, 20%. Alpha TC 9.7 million shares, 2.4% and Tata Capitsl Growth Fund 4.9 million shares, 1.2%. Accordingly 4,000 cr and 95.7 million shares, price band was expected between 400-450.
Now some other news is also there : 1:1bonus shares and split of one share of Rs. 10 into 5 shares of Rs.2 each. Unofficial market trading between 700-750 apiece. All news.
Now one more news of IPO dates and price band of 1000-1001 is also there. But this price band of difference of Re 1, doesn't look impressive. Such early announcement of IPO dates with price band is also a news.
These posts are based on all different level of news only, to say correct or incorrect will be very harsh. We all have to wait for approval of IPO and final announcement thereafter. **Every thing is fair in love and war.** Here, it is neither love nor war.

@PKRAJ Sir in your entire career have you ever seen such early announcement of dates ? That too without receiving sebi nod ? And also revealed the price band such early ? And there is Saturday on 29th July so technically it is impossible open bidding on 29th.that's why I said his source is wrong ( I don't think I was harsh if you think I was harsh than you should re look my msg ) in this forums many people don't have proper source they just believe in what senior members post so it's our duty to verify the things and then post

Your post is immediately after the post of @ipo share, but without name. So I think your response was against the post of @ipo share. I think you can understand.
As far as the question of announcement of IPO date and price, I had also read this news earlier
News may be correct or incorrect. During my long experience, I have never seen announcement of date and price before the approval of any IPO and that's before four months. Members liked this post also. That's why I had not posted that news. The source of news for all of us is internet mainly. There is always a race to post news about IPOs first. Not bad even but creates confusion.
But I have learnt from the experience of my post dated 13.03.23 in Global Surface, where your comment was required to consider. I had posted about the listing of TTL before 31.03.23. This was also a news. "Don't Hurry, Hurry Makes Worry ". Need to think twice before writing.
Regarding price band of 400-450, I have explained the reason. This was and is my thinking also.
Before replying, I always try to understand the post first. For many posts of GMP and sub2 all Members have not proper source, including me. Even these sources are always not upto the mark.
Happy reading your post. Always name a member before any reply to avoid any confusion. As far as to verify each and every news, I think, it is not possible. I'll be thankful to you if you can name the source to verify.

You can do any FD from Kotak.com. The online FD creation is always "premature withdrawal". You then need to link FD to Savings bank account to get FD money also reflected in your total balance to use it against ASBA. Pls do check with your RM. I found it less attractive as they were offering 7.1% FD interest, but when ASBA allotment happens, then premature withdrawal penalty of 2% get applied so effective yield over 1 yr drops to 6% or so, which many banks offer on their normal S/B account, so all this hassle was not worth it.
