You can open only a trading account with SAS Online and trade using its platforms. However, opening a demat account along with a trading account is desirable as it will ease out the trading process in addition to cutting down on Demat transaction charges. If you use a third party demat account linked with SAS trading account, then you will be charged demat charges of Rs 15 twice, once when shares are credited and secondly when they are debited.
