Retail investors who have applied for MOIL IPO will be allotted shares on a proportional basis. For example, the MOIL IPO was over subscribed 31 times in the retail segment ( This means that if you have applied for 527 shares, you will qualify to get 17 shares, 527/31).
If you have applied for 34 shares(2 lots), you will qualify to get 1 share, 34/31.
The NSE Website shows the Cut of oversubscription figures which I guess are the retail aplications at 27.6 times. Where are the other figures comming from?
Even if retail is oversubscribed 33 times , still full application should get firm allotment.
exclude price bids and include 50% of unsubscribed portion of employee quota, also exclude the application with only 2-4 lots applied.

Hello Mr. Hamara Bajaj...There the case was max total lots for 1 lac applied were less than the oversubscription. Here it is approximately equal. eg: Gravita max lots is 16 whereas it got 37x. so out of 37 ppl, approximately 16 full appln guys will get 1 lot (i.e 50 shrs).
Guys, just think before commenting. Careerpoint and Gravita were subscribed 31.74 and 37.34 times in retail respectively. In Careepoint, 80 out of 159 who applied for 1 lac (which was the maximum limit at that time) were allotted one lot each whereas in Gravita 37 out of 84 who applied for 1 lac were allotted one lot. Similarly, MOIL is subscribed around 32.5 times in retail, so even if one has applied for 2 lacs, his chances of getting one lot will be around 50% only.
HOLD THIS STOCK IT WILL TOUCH 800+ ON LISTING DAY. DEBT FREE COMPANY AVERAGE PE OF ALL LISTING COMPANIES IN THE WORLD IS 15 TO 20PE. THIS WILL ONE OF THE HIGHEST EARNING COMPANY WITH FY11 EXPECTED EPS 41.
SHAME ON YOU! Gravita was 1 lac limit IPO whereas MOIL is 2 lacs. So what Sai Shyam(@1023) is saying is correct. Everyone with 2 lac appln will get 1 lot. 1 lac appln will get 1 lot lottery 1 out of 2, approximately.
So in this scenario I think its better to go for 1 lac appln and take the chance and avoid IT scanner
Attn : all IPO wizards.. thanks for you earlier comparative suggestions earlier about LIC housing as better choice. At this point : Is LIC Housing ( secondary market ) still a better option than IPOs? LIC Housing has crossed Rs.1050 . Is still there some more upside ?
