Some members have mentioned that 3rd part is working for them but I suggest not to use that route. Application will be rejected.

It is a grey area right now, randomly it works for some people (not always, but sometimes it does and sometimes it does not). So it is suggested to not rely on 3rd party applications at all

Cutoff price Query//
Does Cutoff price needs to be tick(selected) for applying in SME IPO retail application Or it is only for Mainline IPO retail application ( ** in some IPO’s Employee & Shareholder quota < 2 lakh) ?
This confusion sparks due to trends in ipo subscription data. In mainline IPO mostly retails applications are filled with Cutoff price however it’s not the same with SME Retail applications.
For detailed explanation i have took NSE Subscription data of last 5 Mainline & SME IPO’s(**BSE subscription data of past ipo’s was not available so I just pick the NSE one however its almost same pattern in both and for SME IPO’s only Book Built Issue are picked as Fixed Price Issue doesn’t requires Cut-off)
S. No.      Mainline IPO      Retail (No. of Shares BID For) Cutoff      Price bids
1      Vibhor Steel Tubes Limited IPO:      155834613(79.82%)      39412791(20.18%)
2      Entero Healthcare Solutions Limited IPO:      870353(89.98%)      97009(10.02%)
3      Capital Small Finance Bank Limited IPO:      4499328(86.37%)      710400(13.63%)
4      Jana Small Finance Bank Limited IPO:      8103960(79.59%)      2077920(20.41%)
5      Rashi Peripherals Limited IPO:      33109536(85.35%)      5683632(14.65%)

      Total:      202417790(80.84%)      47981752(19.16%)

Here the data shows that in Mainline IPO Retail applications around ~80% are submitted at Cutoff price and about ~20% are submitted at Manul price band.

S. No.      SME IPO      Retail (No. of Shares BID For) Cutoff      Price bids
1      Wise Travel India Limited:      121003000(53.39%)      105646000(46.61%)
2      Alpex Solar Limited:      359416800(47.39%)      398974800(52.61%)
3      Baweja Studios Limited:      5252800(54.75%)      4341600(45.25%)
4      Megatherm Induction Limited:      165781200(49.82%)      166983600(50.18%)
5      Fonebox Retail Limited:      420570000(48.92%)      439164000(51.08%)

            Total: 1072023800(49.02%)      1115110000(50.98%)

However, for SME IPO Retail applications around ~49% are submitted at Cutoff price and about ~51% are submitted at Manul price band.

Lack of IPO’s rules knowledge might be one of the reasons but typically the SME Retails investor are much more likely to be financially aware than that of Mainline Retail Investor due to SME big ticket size for retail application; As one can apply an 15K application just to try their luck just because they heard some rummer (like tata tech. IPO) even when they have no idea about how IPO application work. But that’s not the case with SME, as it’s retail application is about 1-1.5 Lakh.
I have came to below 2 conclusion points:
•      In SME IPO’s LM wants to artificially create the demand by inflating the subscription data to attract more retailers. As with lower price band they can apply more no. of application as compared to Cutoff price.
•      2nd conclusion is; Cutoff works only in Retail of Mainline IPO’s. For SME we have to manually fill the upper prise band like we do in HNI category

@indiefluence ♾ As i said, every platform has their own nuances, for Zerodha Kite, that is one.

IPO Applicant knows what's the process with price and its bid and one should proceed as per that. Whether cut-off is present or not. In fixed price issues as well, most platform will disable the cut-off mark, as it does not make sense in that case to choose cut-off.

Suppose if price band is 145 to 150. If the issue is substantially or highly oversubscribed then there is almost no chance of allotment taking place at a price less than 150. In such cases whether you apply at cut off or price 150 it makes no difference, this statement is for retail category because cut off is not allowed in NII category..

@Tejas Pandya ji - You're very kind in comparing me with him but frankly not only is his vocabulary far far ahead of mine but also his charm with the ladies despite his age ;) ... I am honestly no comparison to him in terms of vocabulary, charm, age, political ideology or deeds ;).

As for my username, I chose this when I joined the forum about 8 odd years ago to reflect Neo as in New and Longus as in Long (for long term only investing) aspects of my profile. Being a Matrix fan myself being flexible enough to dodge the market bullets was another aspect for using Neo and great that you connected it.

Keep minting!

My IPO pref among current lot of SME IPOs with reasons (Kindly correct me/ advise me if someone has different view, for the benefit of the members of the forum):

1. ESCONET
Positives : Reasonable issue size, Good & continuous increasing GMP trend, Good financials, reasonable pricing (according to sector)of 17 PE , excellent track record of LM, riding the IPO boom. There is a ready demand in GMP for this share, anytime.

2. THAII CASTING
Positives : Big size, Good GMP, Good Financials, reasonable pricing of 12 PE, excellent track record of LM, riding the IPO boom.
Negatives: Big size, GMP trend static. GMP available only in a few pockets, not everywhere.

3. ATMASTCO
Positives : Easy to get allotment due to - Biggest in size (This can be considered both positive & negative), Easy to get allotment due to -No QIB quota (Again, This can be considered both positive & negative), Good Financials, reasonable pricing of 12 PE, Company in Fancy sector,.
Negatives: Poor track record of LM. Low GMP. Negative trend in GMP. Some times GMP buyers are not willing to buy even at curre nt rates. Final decision can be taken on the last date after having a look at the GMP.
HNIs should wait till the last before making an application.

I am unable to make any comments on Kalahridhaan Trendz & Interiors and More, as of now.

Thanks for reading such a long post.

Regards

@M Gupta Please offer your suggestions for the following.
If Mr . X has funds to subscribe to Thai and Esconet 2 lots each from his two accounts ( total 8 lots -2X4) , what would you suggest ?
1. 2 lots for each SME in 2 accounts
2. 1+3 lots in each account
3. 1+1 lot for one SME and 1+ 5 for the other SME
4. Something else..
Please offer your valuable suggestion

Hi all
Pls don't type the word Thaii on Google as it will take you to different world of Thai and may seduce you to apply .
PS- just a socio-economic warning !😀

Is Thaai casting better or Esconet.

Also if I have 50 lakh(we all friends think of aggregating money for big lot) should we put all money in one app or spread across for better chance.

@Sharksshark For SME or Mainboard : If applying in retail, tick cut off. If not applying in retail, manually enter the price at upper price band.

@swd You will every now and then are likely to find companies with heavy borrowings, as these are small companies still striving to get traction and for that they need funds, be it equity dilution or debt, as feasible
15. Sharksshark |   Link |  Bookmark | February 16, 2024 7:09:08 PM
Dear all, while applying for HNI category in this SME ipo do we need to feed cut off price manually like in mainboard IPO or just tick cut off price? I am not getting allotments in SME but got 1 in Mainboard earlier.

Always fill up the price manually, unless the IPO is under-subscribed.
