Minimum brokerage charges are the lowest amount a full-service broker charges for executing a trade, regardless of the trade size. Even if the calculated brokerage, based on the percentage of trade value, is very low, the broker will still charge at least this minimum amount.
Full-service brokers typically charge fees ranging from 0.01% to 0.50% of the transaction value for intraday and delivery trades, with a minimum fee of approximately ₹20 per order.
Minimum brokerage is charged when the percentage-based brokerage is lower than the minimum threshold.

The minimum brokerage is typically ₹20 to ₹30 per trade, or a fixed percentage (often around 0.3% for equity delivery and 0.03% for intraday trading).
If the calculated brokerage is less than the minimum amount (e.g., ₹15), they will still charge the minimum amount (e.g., ₹20).
For example, If the brokerage rate is 0.1%, and the minimum brokerage charge is ₹35, then when an investor buys shares worth ₹10,000, the expected brokerage fee would be ₹10. However, since the minimum brokerage is ₹35, the investor must pay a brokerage of ₹35 on the purchase of shares worth ₹10,000, despite the calculated brokerage amount of ₹10.
