How to trade BTST?

To carry out BTST trades, traders require a Demat account and an Online Trading Account. The steps involved are as follows:

  1. Traders purchase the shares to sell them the next day and carry out a BTST trade. Let’s consider an example of the shares purchased on Monday.
  2. Per the trade settlement, the shares are credited to their Demat account on Tuesday (T + 1 day).
  3. These shares are designated for delivery in the sale transaction carried out on Tuesday.
  4. The shares designated for sale on Tuesday are debited on Wednesday, completing the settlement.
