Total Borrowings

Total Borrowing is the sum of all short-term and long-term debts a company owes to lenders.

Total Borrowings represent the total amount of money a company has borrowed from external sources and is obligated to repay. It appears under liabilities in the balance sheet.

It usually includes:

  • Short-term Borrowings: Loans or credit facilities repayable within 12 months (like working capital loans, overdrafts).
  • Long-term Borrowings: Loans or debt repayable over a longer period (like term loans, bonds, debentures).

Total Borrowings = Short-term debt + Long-term debt, showing how much money the company owes lenders.
