Assets

Assets are resources owned by a company that have economic value and can generate future benefits.

Assets represent the entire value of everything a company owns, both current and long-term, as recorded on its balance sheet. It includes:

  • Current Assets: Cash, receivables, inventory, short-term investments (convertible to cash within a year)
  • Non-Current Assets: Property, plant, equipment, intangible assets, long-term investments, goodwill, etc.

In simple terms: Total Assets = Current Assets + Non-current Assets.

Rising total assets is a positive sign if backed by healthy revenue, profits, and efficient use of those assets.
