When is an IPO list?

The IPO listing generally takes place on T+3, where “T” is the IPO closing date. SEBI has shortened the timeline for share listing to T+3, which means the company must list its shares within three working days from the issue’s closure

  • The company announces the listing date in advance, and its shares begin trading on the stock exchange on that scheduled day
  • On the IPO listing date, the company’s shares begin trading. A special pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM is conducted, during which the listing price is discovered based on buy and sell demand.
  • Regular trading in IPO shares starts at 10:00 AM on listing day.
