Following are the responsibilities of Registrar in an IPO:
- Pre-IPO Stage (Before the IPO opens)
2. During the IPO (Subscription period)
- Collects application data from Banks, Brokers, Online platforms
- Receive the final bid file from the exchanges.
- Checks for Duplicate PANs, Invalid demat details, Incorrect bids
- Coordinate with bankers to ensure that final collection certificates are received.
- Reconcile the banked bids with the Final Bid file.
- Compiles category-wise subscription data (Retail, QIB, NII)
- Prepare the basis of allotment with lead managers.
- Submit the basis for approval to the Stock Exchange.
- Process the allotment of shares.
- Send funds debit and funds unblocking files to SCSBs.
3. Post IPO Stage
- Initiates refunds / fund unblocking
- Credits shares to demat accounts
- Publishes Basis of allotment
- Handles investor grievances
