Is lPO success dependent on the Lead manager?

A Lead Manager ensures the IPO is well-prepared and fairly executed, but the success of the investment depends on the company’s fundamentals, valuation, and market conditions, not just the Lead Manager.

Lead manager is responsible for : 

• Quality of disclosures: Ensures the IPO prospectus clearly explains the business, risks, and use of funds.
• Realistic pricing & structure: Helps decide the price band and issue structure based on market feedback.
• Regulatory compliance: Ensures the IPO follows SEBI rules and investor protection norms.
• Institutional marketing: Brings in anchor and institutional investors to build confidence.
• Smooth execution: Manages subscription, allotment, refunds, and listing without issues.

If these are done well, the IPO has a strong foundation.
