Yes, Zerodha opens the accounts for minor but for the restricted purpose of holding the shares.

Zerodha offers to open only the Demat account for the minor. The guardian can trade through their Trading and Demat account and then transfer the shares to the Demat account of the minor for holding purposes. You can also transfer shares by way of gift to the minor or can apply for an IPO using the Demat account of the minor using the ASBA route.
