Submitted application (NRI status) for Demat Account / Online Trading in March 2006. Now it is Oct 2007 - till now not succeeded in opening the account inspite of re-submitting the application 4 times and incurring several thousands towards courier charges since I stay abroad. The employee turnover in ICICI is very high - none of them seem to know what they are doing - they boast that they are the biggest bank in India - but, they are the worst in customer service !!. They were prompt in deducting the charges of Rs 3500/- towards Demat account opening - but the account is yet to be opened even after 18 months !! - the worst possible service !!! - requested for cancelling the application and refunding the amount - absolutely no response at all !! - cheating people seems to be their moto !!

I heard lot about icici direct and got registered but no executive called on me even i visited their office at malwa towers ab road INDORE.BUT my broker helped me filled up the forms after lots of formalties under the guise of KYC NORMS AND MUST HAVE PUT 52 SIGNATURES BUT DATE YET TO HAVE THE ACCOUNTS

is there any site to check status of dividends awarded. i have to check for dlf nd ongc.......

Very poor ICICIDIRECT website access especially during peak hours. Have called and omplained quite a few times and t hey say their server is running fine. They are not ready to listen to our complaints. They absolutely do not care for their customers. Just going around singing "Hum Hain Naa" is of no use. You have to keep up to what you claim which they never do.

Am having 5 accounts of ICICIDirect of all my family members and am now planning for a shift soon as this website is useless. Whenever I wish to place an order, it is not accessible. Its pathetic....

JAI, just go ahead and open with them.....they are good i feel. i am there with them for 2 yrs+...was also in the critical mode recently thinking them to be costly based on readers opinions....So i started enquiring with various brokerages.....So my answer to you is stick with icici if u are or in case u r new then be bindaas to open with them...U will really enjoy....The others majority are chindi....most say brokerage is 0.3/0.5 vs icici 0.75...but there are various traps in between.....for eg geogit gives 0.3 but it doesnt give other features like watchlist,. For that u have to join a fixex brokerage monthly scheme.....Thus each one shows different types of chindigiri......So end in end i thought"jo hai wohi sahi hain"....for a few 100 rs brokerage just going here n there is foolish....Icici is really good. Near to it if u want try bank of india trading . Open with the bank....They have tieup with Asit mehta.....but there also it is ambiguous as to what additional features they give and give not...like portofilio, watchlists,etc......If just money is the criteria for you i.e brokerage should be the least and balance features not essential, then i think u should take a decision of your own based on research with other brokerages....Else icici is best for everything, no doubts. For a slight cost they are still like Microsoft windows vis a vis linux. I hope this is clear to you and all newbies.

DEAR MR BHAVIN SHAH DO U TRADE FREQUENTLY ONLINE IF YES & THEN ALSO U ARE SATISFIED WITH ICICI U MUST BE 1 FROM 1000 WHO IS NOT COMPLAING.
I HAVE LAST 2.5 YRS EXP & ITS DIRTY ,WORST .....SITE WONT ALLOW BE TO WRITE FURTHER U CAN UNDERSTAND THEY ARE ...,..., ... CHORS MAHA CHOR USELESS STAFF .
OUTT OF 20 TRADING DAYS U WIL GFACE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS IN ONLINE ATLEAST FOR 15DAYS .

HOPE NO ONE TRADES FROM ICICI.

As u all mention that icicidirect is slow web sight as per my experience it is not slow websight slow is computer processor and web connection if it is brodband it is very quick plus i have this account for about two years i do not have any single mistake from the bank and not any error in my accounts so in my opinion if they take little more in brokerage fees still it worth then risk of money and error headeche , the customer service is one of the best as per my experience thanks

Really it's very difficulta to open an on lined account with ICICI.I have submitted my application on 07.06.2007, still it could not open and several mails and phone calls are being done.Finally even in online also I have given my request no executive neither reached nor responded.

AS WVWRY BODY KNOWS ITS MOST EXPENSIVE .....BROK.
I HAVE MAILED MY COMPLAINT MANY TIMES BUT NO RESPONSE FROM THEIR SIDE .

icici demat account very poor becouse the new IPO share alloted then it is in the allocatied side then we saw it is wich share we don't know becouse ther write N/A WHAT is na then he can not come demate allocation why not u show that name this problem in the icici direct account no any other but why then we allocatied about 2-3 minuts after that we go for sale that time share rate low it is always prblem

This is the advice to u. Next time u email to icici bank, send a copy to the banking ombudsman. You'll find that ur work will be done like their arse is on fire!
Try it! It really works.

ICICI is worst ever.
1. Very poor query handling
2. damn slow web site espl market hour
3. highly expensive (almost 1% buy and sell time charge)
4. LIMIT option for day trade not thr
5. If u do day trade using ICICI u loose, such slow response, rate shows one thing and get executed at other rate

Over all ... better stay away from this

ICICI is the best bank and icicidirect is the best platform to invest in stock market. The main thing is that all your money is safe in your bank and you can very fast sell and buy using ur icici bank acc.
Also research and other service is very good like ipo is best among all.
For your kind information icici was the best to launch internet trading in india way back in 2000 hence it will always be ahead in terms of technology.
The bad part of icici is their high brokerage but when u add the ease of service u can manage.
Also icicidirect website is very fast. All you people saying abt site is actually not website but your internet problem. I have experienced this and after taking broadband connection website is quite fast. hence change your internet and not icici direct.

Indiabulls is also good and will be among best when they open a indiabulls bank and some other are also has some benefits. 5paisa is worst in service. But if you consider all still icicidirect is the best.

I opened demat & trading account with the icicibank, they send an email to me that my first three transaction for trading is free from the brokerage charges, I did margin plus trading but they charged me total almost 2.5% on buying and 2.5% on selling in intraday trading. I enquired about the total charges and also about the high charges through mail to desktop but they didnot reply me till today about the scheme and on what basis they have deducted such high charges, Currently I am applying the online IPO it is very friendly but take few hours to execute the order, donot know the brokerage on delivery
and more importantly it is very slow to do trading online and also they are not providing the live stock watch of 20-30 stock as the other brokers are providing and the process of buying & selling is also a prolong. No one cannot do buying/selling in seconds as compare to other stock broking services. The bank should do the required changes and reduce the charges and improve the service

I live in UK, Unfortunately one sunny day I have decided to open a NRI Demat account in ICICI direct. I welcomed the trouble.

They took rather very long time around 4 months to open an account(lot of paper work,lot of attestation of documents) and after all this, need to make lot of calls to their Mumbai office. Their customer service is horrible, as someone pointed out here except saying 'sorry sir' and 'thank you sir' they dont much anyway.

1. IPO and Mutual funds - ICICI has given some strange logic and stopped all NRIs from UK for applying IPOs.
2. Trading - very expensive brokerage. Customer service needs to be improved. There is lot of scope.

Please guys - If you know any other service provider who will allow NRI from UK to apply IPOs, please let me
know. I have to open an account.

I pity all the online stock trading companies operating in India. They are unprofessional, incompetent and indifferent to the customers. This sector urgently requires foreign operators to pitch in to give these people run for their money.

I'm not satisfied with ICICI due to following reasons

1) ICICI server is not at all good. Its quite slow and gets totally blocked when some new heavily over subscribed IPO opens. I wanted to purchase vishal retail but i couldn't apply for it on the opening day till 11:00 AM because server was too busy.

2) The brokerage is high as compared to other DPs.

3) Trading starts on Stock exchange at 9:55 AM but from ICICI online, one can trade after 10:00 AM. This delay proves costly if one wants to buy stock on the listing date.

I am an NRI custmer of ICICI direct. I request & warn everyone not to open account with ICICI direct if u love you money, peace of mind at all. I can not express my experience due to paucity of space here but to say atleast , the ICICI direct site will make you mad, It's behavior is crazy! Forget trading if , one wants to buy or sale simple mutual fund online , then you have to log in , & re-log in around 50 times. May be you end up trying whole day for purchasing / redemption of even mutual fund.Above all, thier customer service will say that every thing is OK & perfect at their side !!! The ideal perfect eartwhile govt organization!!!!!. I think , they are maintaning the legacy !!

After going theu this post if anybody from ICICI direct wants to contact me they can do so at my e-mail address or at this side. I have got in record all the e-mail communication with ICICI direct . I request everybody to spread this message, so that their customer base gets effected may be due to this , these type of organization my start to behave themselves.!!!!!
