I agree with the strategy laid down by Sreedhar and IPOFinder. I will apply four 1 lakh RPP application on Monday morning and if subscription remains low by 2PM then I will withdraw my application before 3:00 PM.

Narsimiah Narsimhan,
IPOfinder is the person who bought Gravita 1500 shares at 25 premium. He made a cool 1.5 Lakhs so don't underestimate his ability he is not as simple as you think, whatever he does his investment objective is quite sensible.Gyscoal alloy till last date QIB was 0 subscription so you can comment about the success or failure after watching last date subscription.

SCI IS GOOD TO BUY WHEN PRICE BAND IS 115 TO 130
OTHER WISE AVOID OR MAY TAKE A CHANCE ON SCI LIKE POWERGRID

Sreedhar at 32.

Well your comment can not be held example 100%.

On 01/02/2008, the market was on downward trend and a company with a very small issue which got very highly over subscribed (more than 15 times in retail and more than 50 times in HNI) got listed at a very high discount and the share price remained in discount till today.

If I am not wrong the name of the company is PRECISION PIPES which is a big supplier to Maruti Udyog.

So, with all due respect to you, I would state that you might be right in most of the cases but in share market you can't bet on any thing which can be generalised for all issues.
21. Sreedhar |   Link |  Bookmark | November 20, 2010 12:01:28 PM (900+ Posts)
IPOfinder,
Once a small share is subscribed 15 times I will bet my last rupee not even a down ciruit in nifty & sensex will cause it to list below its issue price becos their will always be technical support from grey market shorters & people who have got 5000 rs worth of shares would not mind at whatever price it lists but that is not a issue with large companies.Post Gravita subscription nifty fell 5 percent but it listed at its highest point as far as grey market premium was considered.

I do not know how many times RPP will subscribe but if it subscribes more than 5 times & 15 times in retail & HNI resp. I am ready with my
ASBA application at 245 pm. If above criterion is met I recommend a subscribe on RPP.

vinnukaushik,

let the pricing be known first, there is a difference between an IPO and an FPO, If the pricing I would advice you to go for MOIL, request you to wait for a few days, till the pricing is announced

@ kvs,

no one can predict future. FPO and IPO are different story altoghter. You need to know an IPO can give returns upto 100% whereas an FPO has limited interest and people on't buy price above past few days price. Why will I buy POWERGRID on FPO listing day at 125 when it's available at 101 today? But COAL INDIA can list at 40% premium as it's new in market. Hence applying in IPO is much better option thus you should go for MOIL. Having said this, pricing is also important factor. People made money in COAL India as it was given at 40% lesser amount than it's international value. Now govt has clarified MOIL won't be on discount and will come on premium and if it comes anything above 750 is not cheap to make quick bucks. Hindustan Copper was trading at 450 last week and pre-fpo it'll be available at 200 and post fpo at 180. So one has to see many things not just "I have 1 lacs and 2 lacs at disposal so tell me where to put that money". Follow this site until price band is declared and do some homework like reading RHP, looking at balance sheets, profits in past, criminal cases, relations, experience and qualification of directors etc. If not just follow moneycontrol's ipo or come here daily.

Thanks aRYANrAJ for providing information about Powergrid.
By Calculating as per your figures, powergrid has to grow 18% every year to become 7 time current value by 2020 which is fair in Equity Market.
Thanks for the information.. Looks like I will hold the script for some more time and see its growth for few more quarters and then decide on it.

thanks

I beg to reply your query and hope Sreedhar bhai reply too and with PGC he tells something about NTPC as I hold it's ahre from 223 levels a month and half ago to 209, 197 and 192 totalling all about 550 shares now. Mind says NTPC will produce 70 GB power by 2020 and it's stock will be 10 times but heart says since last 2 years it's not moved instead it's gone down though it's production is increased by 37% so quit them at notional loss and invest money in MOIL and SCI.

As for your query, PGC is fairly valued at rs 100 after fresh equity are floated in. A new CERC policy will hinder it's quarterly profits as now power buyers will pay transmission charges annually. Also central and state govt will work on joint power sharging and bill payments now instead of buying needed power on own requirement so that 1 state with good money don't overdraw power leaving less or no power for railways or UP/Bihar/Chattisgarh type states. Hence those state comapny which are in profit will get equal to less power and loss makers too thus giving less revenuw on transmission to PGC. Going ahead in 2020, PGC will be at 7 times todays price after several expansions and new players like Rel Power, IBPower, GVK, BGR, Orient, NTPC Neuclear etc will come up.

So it's farly valued at current level and don't expect it to go leaps and bounds in quick future, it's like hold and forget comapny and in long run you won't be diappointed.

Hi Sreedhar,
Since you have mentioned that your father works at NTPC and you are aware of the worth of other companies like Powergrid, I would be needing an advice from you on Powergrid.
I am holding Powergrid from last 3 years and my average is around 113 and I hold a decent amount of equity in that. I also applied for FPO and would be expecting another 275-300 in to my kitty. So could you please provide your inputs to below
1. Fair value of Powergrid share
2. How much will Powergrid share value go after FPO stock release
3. What would be the long term prospects of it ..

Thanks in advance
SunnyBunny

PanditJi,
My only motive is all people should benefit from my style of IPO investing.Believe me those who had followed me in HMVL,Oberoi etc made lot of profits. For people who have limited funds I give my idea how to make max money from limited account.
New members do not know who sreedhar is only old members of the board know about me.So my ideas are for old members & they know that I will inform them about each & every trade of mine.In gravita I said that I have sold at 240.In tirupati I sold at 60.In Gyscoal I told them I sold at 105.These rates are almost the highest rates. In coal India I said Iwill buy back my shares for mahurat trading & I sold at 350-355 the highest price till now for coa lIndia. So good or bad Issues I give my suggestions.

Dear Sreedhar,

Thanks for your suggestions. Any chance for Coal India to cross 340 by next week?.
9. Sreedhar |   Link |  Bookmark | November 19, 2010 9:56:41 PM (900+ Posts)
Srini,
MOIL will subscribe more than 20 times if it is 1500 Cr Issue. You will get 5000 rupees worth shares on an average. Now there is a limit for the price of MOIL GREY MARKET MAY SUGGEST 400.But say Issue is given at 500,Is MOIL a commodity stock worth at 900.it is not.Sellin g pressure will be there fastest finger first. What do you gain form all this max 2500-3000 per application which you can earn in any Koun Kiska IPO.

Sell coal India at 340.Its only trigger left is F&0,Nifty Inclusion after which it will sleep like Kumbhakarna. When Powergrid shot up to 150 i said its intrinsic value was not even 80 at that point,NHPC,SJVNL I also asked people to get out.My father works in NTPC so I know true worth of all these companies NTPC,NHPC,Powergrid,Coal India which all are related.
Anyhow u can utlise those 70k & make profit in lot more issues.

@ Srini,

There is no point in taking a loan for IPO, the cost is very high, they charge you very high rate of intrest plus processing charges, your cost per share on the small lot alloted to you, would shoot up substantially, No point brother, Retail has been cheated by the govt, this whole thing of 2 lakhs is just to get HNI into retail category
