Everyone has an agenda. Biggest question tomorrow is that the golden goose of GOI and DIAPM has stopped laying eggs .its in hospital. its share price has depreciated 25% where do we go from here?
Tomorrow onwards we will understand how deep the anchors of LIC are sunk in ..and if high tide of their selling will toss lic in the whirlpool of the markets. interesting times for observers and worry some time for LIC investors.

हिन्दी में एक कहावत है कि [ LIC ]हाथी के दाँत दिखाने के और, खाने के और होते हैं! और राजस्थान में एक कहावत है 🐘हाथी पालनो सोरो लेकिन लिद [ गोबर ] फेंकणो दोरो! हिन्दी में अर्थ- हाथी पालने में क्या? लेकिन उसका गोबर बाहर फेंकना मंहगा पड़ता है!

हमने तो LIC IPO के समय ही कहा था नहीं Apply करना है! और करते हो तो Grey market में बेचकर भरो! किसी को Tag करके नहीं लिखा था! लेकिन कुछ पढ़े लिखे शेयर बाजार के "विशेषज्ञ लोग " मुझे Tag करके लंबे लंबे लेख लिखने लगे और पिछे ही पड़ गए, अनेक लोगों ने उनका साथ भी दिया!
सोमवार 13 जुलाई कहीं Rs 700 के निचे ना आ जाए? बेचारे भोले भाले और नये निवेशक फस गये!

मैंने तो LIC IPO के समय ही इस Forum पर कहा था Apply नहीं करना है! और करते हो तो Grey Market में बेचकर भरो! Short मारो और खर्राटे मार कर चैन की नींद लो! कीसी को Tag करके नहीं लिखा था! लेकिन कुछ पढ़े लिखे शेयर बाजार के "विशेषज्ञ लोग " मुझे Tag करके लंबे लंबे लेख लिखने लगे और पिछे ही पड़ गए, अनेक लोगों ने उनका साथ भी दिया!

Why is LIC trading at a PE of over 175 ? It is about 2x the PE of HDFC Life , which is a much better managed company and doesn't have to deal with the overhang of government interference and further divestment. Unlike other companies with negative or very high P/E ratios , LIC is not a growth company. Is there any reason why forward EPS will increase by multiples to justify the current valuation ?

Actually, if you look at global insurance companies like AIG, Berkshire Hathaway, MetLife, etc , their P/E ratios are between 5 to 10. So why are Indian insurers trading at such a huge premium to them ?

You also need to see value of that outstanding stock at 3.5%. Many ipo applicants simply want to flip either at profit or loss. The problem is new buyer sees price further going down so not interested. In my view that is what is dragging down the price

One very unique feature observed is that the price which you see in the morning, never comes back till closing of market (no bounce back at all - may be due to its very heavy weight like an elephant).
