​@ValueSeeker The incremental allotment chance is not that big if one moves from 5 to 8 lots, but having said that, there are more number of applicants in even number of lots, say 6 or 8 as generally seen in most cases.

In such a situation imo the ideal case is applying 7/7/7/7 from 4 accounts which gives better incremental chance although howsoever small and has chances for less number of applicants in that lot category but enough to get into lottery.

That's how i see it.

Even also applied upto the 50 lots application.. But never got any allotment in HNI segment.. In sme's..
Whenever I got allotment in sme's.. It was retail application..
It's my personal experience.. After applying for more than 100 sme's...
No sequence or combination work in sme's allotment..
Luck factor is supreme in sme's allotment.. as par my personal experience... !!

Same question like value seeker to all the experts, with 4 different pan and 20 lac capital , what is the best way to apply in a SME IPO , is 1-1-1-10 or 5-5-5-5

Have tried 1-5-7-10-15 like lots in different good sme ipo in last 1 year, still waiting for my luck!

Assuming 1.25L bid size, I would alternate between 1-1-1-13 (mainly in book built issues with 35% retail, 15% hni) and 4-4-4-4 (mainly in fixed price issues with 50-50 retail n hni)

Can you explain how is it elementary.

I remember @Basuvr and other experts explained with maths that a 2 lot has higher probability than a 1 lot retail.
Same way there are possibility like 2-2-5-5 or like that multiple combinations. Assuming I can apply from 15-20 lots from 4 accounts than what will have most probility is what I want to know

Elementary line is a very common one used by Sherlock while talking to Watson. Thought you would know. 🙂
2 lot application having greater probability than 1 lot entirely depends on subscription levels. There have been SME IPOs in which even 3 lot applications had lower probability than retail. It does not always happen.

​@Sherlock I have never got any allotment in SMEs from years. I have tried with different strategies. But never in big lots of more than 6 lots. But the probability of allotment lies in very good number of lots applied. as our big HNIs of this forum.
Finally in short when there is a lottery I believe in luck only. When luck favors lots and number of applications have no meaning.
BLS E, main line IPO was subscribed 290 times in sHNI and I got 1/3.
Only thing, keep applying according to your choice and your financial availability. When we apply in good and very good SMEs, allotment is very difficult. Never regret. Keep smiling and applying.

I am in a similar situation having only 2 accounts and funds avalable for 12 lots. In a dilemma whether to go for 6+6 lots OR 9+3 lots.. Tried 3+3 lots seral times in the past but no positive result

Sometimes retail give better probabilities than 2-3 lot HNIs.
