I was waiting for 750/800 since July. I sold my IPO allotment today at ₹704.75 because chart pattern was very exhausting. It has strong EPS growth year on year but this is not reflecting in stock price. IMO it is ₹1000+ stock but I took an exit on frustration and fear that it may slip back to 650 odd levels.

Technically it has target of 780 if breaks 720 with volumes. All the best to you.

This is indeed a tough time for our economy. I request all the retail investors to not panic and keep investing every month. Grab this once in a three year opportunity which markets gives us in the form of correction. Stick to your SIP and increase the SIP amount starting January 2017. If DOW can keep rising for more than 100 years then our Nifty is very young, It is only 22 years old index. Have faith in India. Market is testing your patience, it will definitely reward you with handsome gains.

Hear hear !!!,
MKB has said it absolutely right.... this is the best time / opportunity... make the best of the worst situation.... invest when stocks are falling.... but have patience.... "sabra ka fal meetha hota hai".... so as MKB said....when it goes up gain... rewards will be handsome or Sweet.
I have stopped looking at portfolio with intention if its bleeding red or growing green.
On the other hand i am going through forums and chats and trying to find good stocks to invest right now....

suggestions are welcome amigos ! :)

Interesting question
Only 1 thing I know is , we retailers enter at high price without any calculation & exit at low after calculating loss.

Another question I would like to add is the formula of book value ?

@ moderator , Like last 5 years Profit/Loss data displayed on this forum page , if other data also displayed , it would be easy for us to calculate ratios

Reliance IPO subscribed more than 3X. That means it will close tomorrow

How to calculate Book Value:-

((Equity Share Capital+Reserves and Surplus)/Equity Share Capital)*Face Value of Equity Shares

For eg.
Equity Share Capital ₹100 Crores
Reserves and Surplus ₹900 Crores
Face Value ₹10

Book Value is ₹100 per share ((100+900)/100)*10

No Need to add/subtract or adjust anything.

Check Yourself. Take an eg. of TCS

See Consolidated Balance Sheet of Tata Consultancy Services (31-03-2016)

Equity Share Capital is 197.04 Crores
Reserves and Surplus is 65163.52 Crores
Face Value is ₹1

Hence Book Value is ₹331.71 (Consolidated)

In my opinion, demonetization will have ZERO effect on sales. Here are my views

1)      Customers of Titan, Jubilant, Whirlpool and Sheela Foam are RICH people!!! Highly educated, internet savvy, use Paytm
2)      If they want to gift their loved ones a ₹10000 watch, buy a heater to protect from winters chill, eat PIZZA or sleep on a good mattresses then they will not resist to go to the store and buy. They will make card payment.
3)      Only AAM AADMI i.e. sabzi wala, chaai wala, dudh wala, daily wage labourer are the people who are suffering with demonetization, & these people are not the customers of these companies
4)      HUL, Marico & Dabur sales will get impacted but not Titan, Jubilant, Whirlpool, Symphony or Sheela

Do you guys know any Debenture Issue with good Interest Rate and high credit rating???
avatar
5.1. ShareView  Nov 29, 2016 10:16:56 PM IST

Sheela Foam Ltd IPO

Debenture Issues with high credit rating also are not reliable. They attract investors with high interest rate but usually delay interest payment after some time and if interest amount goes beyond certain limit , they give us net interest only, that is after deducting tax.If we does not fall into the tax bracket we have to claim for it.Some other disadvantages : (1)Very Low Liquidity .You can check every day volume from stock exchange site like shares. In a week only 1 or 2 transactions at the most.Even if you are able to sell it somehow , you have to sell at market value which is usually less than face value.i.e < 1000.All interest earned will be erased in capital loss.It has the same effect like dividend . When dividend declared , market value discounted to that extent.Same way during interest payment market value falls below face value.I have invested in 9% DHFL debt IPO AAA rated at FV 1000 and sold at 985.So capital loss is 1.5 % vs 9% interest payment.i.e Average is 7.5 %. So it is better to park in bank FD

and the best part it only has one months lock in period for exit load..... my debt fund is mix of NCD Arbitrage fund debt funds company FDs.....

one need to understand a normal FD gives 7% arbitrage give 10% so u earn 42% more even if ur tax slab is Zero at 10% slab it grows to 50% at 20% slab it grows 79% more return and at30% slab u earn 104% income

higher the bracket better to avoid FD
